It is now 2006 and I am still adding articles and photographs to this site which was launched to mark the advent of the new millennium.

The most recent addition was the Jack Pye page, which tells the story of the world famous wrestler who once lived at Stanley Gardens.

The latest addition to this site is an extremely informative piece written by Peter Dumville which takes a look at the old school on Thorne Road, now the "Family Resource Centre"

I added another of Peter's articles in the Spring of 200.
The Development of Stainforth's Railway.
This tells the story of the railway that existed on East Bank and the later development of the existing railway.

I am still working on several parts of the Stainforth sites and I hope to add the finished article about Jack Pye in the very near future, which will include a film clip of him appearing at Bolton in 1940.
