In 2002 the station was renamed as "Hatfield Station" and extensive work was carried out, including the building of a new footbridge and improvements to the approach road.


The view from the railway bridge. The train has just passed through the station, which comprises of two platforms - connected by the silver/grey footbridge.
To the left of the tracks you can see the industrial project, and in the distance is Hatfield Main Colliery.
