The BBC put their Faith in Stainforth

BBC Films, Company Pictures, 4Way Pictures and Screen Yorkshire teamed up as Big Strike Films Limited to produce a 100 minute film for BBC Television.

The story focuses on a pit worker and a police officer, whose friendship is put under intense pressure as the two sides divide. Scenes were shot in Doncaster town centre and in Thorne, Hatfield and Stainforth

Faith aired on BBC1 28th February 9pm
Premiered:
Sat 26 February 2005 at the Showroom Cinema in Sheffield (10.30am).

Newby Colliery, was the scene of an intense clash between picketing miners and armoured riot police, after coal bosses tried to break the resolve of the the men there by getting a small number of scabs to cross the picket line.
(Based on events which took place at Hatfield Main Colliery, Stainforth, Doncaster)

Focusing on actual events as a source of inspiration, writer William Ivory and director David Thacker portray a gripping story of love, deceit, betrayal and survival set against the backdrop of the Miners' Strike of 1984-85
