I moved to Stainforth in 1994. I think the village is a great place. I did not know about it's history, but that is another thing the people of Stainforth can be proud about. Great site.

Thank you again for such a superb site I visit it often. My research into Stainforth covers names such as Silvester Turgoose Parish Bates Cockayne. I would love to hear from anyone else with an interest in the old place. Chris

In memoriam Many people in Stainforth would remember my mother, district nurse Symons, local preacher too at Methodist church in Stainforth and surrounding villages - from 1956-1969. Sadly she passed away on Monday 8 October in Bromsgrove after a long illness. She and I and my sisters have fond memories of Stainforth and Hatfield Main.

Great to see Hatfield Colliery reopening under the Management of Mr Budge. I hope the reorganisation of education in Stainforth this year with the closure of Junction Road School is done constructively to the future benefit of the children and adults in Stainforth not for the benefit of politicians or teachers. This is a very important time for Stainforth I hope the right decisions are made to ensure prosperity for Stainforth.

Good to see and very interesting too, especially the old photographs.I have a great picture of me and my brother near the 'Beer Off' corner of junction road about 1955 with the old Magnet Ales sign behind. Sad to see so many shops boarded up.

Really great site. It's simplistic design makes it very easy on the eye and a doddle to navigate yet it still looks 'classy' and has a wealth of information which has been well researched and very well presented. I found the "Then and now" section particularly intriguing. After hearing the descriptions of old Stainforth many times from my dad, it is nice to see it in true imagery. Well done unc.
