Hi Pearl I seem to remember that there was a Sheep Dip Lane and Dip could be a short version and therefore self explanatory. I can't remember where it is, and Puddin Lane has me foxed, unless it is near Ashfields and has something to do with the Tom Puddings that were always lined up there.

Hi everybody, Just to let you all know that the Hatfield Band, have done it again. They were at the Yorkshire Area Brass Band contest at Bradford 6th March 2004 first time in the first section having winning the Nationals last September, and they won. This is a great achievement for not only the Band, but for the village.

Just found the site Adge, what a shock to see the changes. I've been away from the village for 21 years except for the occasional cemetery visit. Fantastic site, brings back terrific memories, especially the 70's in the Fox, Demi and Peacock!!! Keep up the good work Grahame N

Hello Matthew! You are absolutely correct this is a brilliant site with many different characters and non conformists contributing but we respect their views, I think!! I was in the same class as your brother Christopher at Junction Road school in 1964/5. In the summer of 1965 we went onto secondary education and I believe he went to Bradford Grammar School. What happened to him?

Hi Matthew I remember your Dad coming to the village he was our family Dr. for a while. It was a different place then. He had his surgery in the house in Oldfield Lane at frst if I remember correctly.

Great site: Fond memories of Stainforth – I was born in Oldfield Lane. My dad, Dr Donald Baldwin, was the family doctor in Church Road – mid 1950s to mid 1960s. Does anyone remember him?

Hey, Sam & Co!! Please don't use this guestbook for chatting. Go to to the Stainforth forum, and if you want I'll even make you an area of your own where you can all chat away as much as you like. The link above will take you there!
